White House shocked – shocked, we tell you – that Republicans want Obama to be a one-term president

by editor on October 30, 2010

Senate Minority Leader Mitchell McConnell had the temerity to say, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

Our theory? Robert Gibbs is upset because he just figured out that if Barack Obama is a one-term president, then he's a one-term press secretary

Robert Gibbs seemed shocked by this comment, despite the fact that we can’t recall any party ever hoping that its opposition would win re-election. One can only conclude that the innocents at the White House are easily shocked.

CNN.com has the details:

With his usual sarcastic tone, spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters “maybe Senator McConnell is interested in running for President.”

Now we’re shocked. This is the first time we’ve ever seen anyone other than Fox News note Gibbs’ annoying sarcasm.

The White House believes that fixing the ailing economy is the single most important thing, so top aides jumped at the chance to paint McConnell’s comments as more business as usual, and part of the problem that landed the “car in the ditch.”

Gibbs said there will be time in two years for a presidential campaign, but that “members of the Senate are elected and hired by the people of the United States to get stuff done for the people of the United States, not posture and play political games, gum up the system.”

Oh, please, Bob. Do you mean like a certain young Illinois senator who got stuff done for the people of the United States by beginning his campaign for president the day he was elected to the Senate?

I find it funny that no one recalls the party that pushed the economy into this mess in the first place. Who started a bogus war? Who pushed 2 stimulus packages in order to make sure the rich stayed rich? Who pushed high gas prices? Republicans did while G.W. Bush was at the helm. Took Bush 8 years to force us into a huge debt, and Obama was supposed to fix it in less than 2? Say what you will. Deny what you want. But the truth is all around you. These guys didn’t want a BLACK president. Period.

You forgot to say that Obama inherited the worst economy since Charlemagne.

I find it funny that you are a moron by using the race card. Sorry, it has no more effect. Call me a racist and it slides right off of me. And while I could go into why you are wrong about the rest of your inane statement, I won’t because you LIKE the Kool-Aid. It would be a wasted effort.

You and your ilk haven’t figured out yet that we Tea Party types no longer view this political conflict as a Donk vs. Elephant issue. It is ruling political class vs. country class. I can guarantee you that most of the votes today to put GOP candidates in office come with a probation period, and they better perform to return this country to Constitutional principles, or we will primary their azzes next go-round. Your Donk party? Eh, not so much. They’ll keep right on nominating leftists, Socialists, and reprobates (think Bawney’s Frank).

Enjoy your losing day, leftist. Hope you get nice and depressed over the extent of the shellacking you are about to take.

Thanks for the nice straight line set up.

I believe the correct phrase to use here is “No shit, Sherlock.”

It is amazing that we can look at almost all of our elected officials and use the phrase that I think was coined for Slick Willie: “You know how to tell when he’s lying?…” And Gibby is really a totally annoying floating turd. It would take someone with the caliber of Obomie to put such a useless weasel in such a visible position…

Vote Often Democrats do!!

“beginning his campaign for president the day he was elected to the senate” AND began his campaign for his second term the day he was elected. He sure as hell hasn’t been doing a presidents job!
Not only do we not want 4 more years of Ocomrade, (heck, we dont want 4 more minutes) but we also do not want 4 more years of this horse’s ass Fibbs…..er I mean Gibbs.

How about half-a-term? Obama falls into futile despair after the mid terms, he reacts violently from Michelle-my-bell’s beating him about the head with the election results issue of the New York Times. That issue will be enough to make The One opt out of Washingto D.C., go bavk to chicago and challenge Rhamm Emmanual for the Mayors ghetto mansion that Mayor Jane occupied in the 70’s at Cabrini-Green. Home never felt so good for The One.

I’m not shocked, I’m hopeful that their wish will come true.
