Raaacists: Texas group offers college scholarships to white men only

by editor on March 2, 2011

In an era when black students voluntarily segregate themselves into blacks only fraternities and sororities, form black student unions, and are the beneficiaries of scholarships reserved for blacks only, and none of that is considered racism, we’re just not smart enough to figure out what racism is anymore. All we know is that only white people can be guilty of it.

Congratulations! You've just won a scholarship!

Some Texas students have noted the same phenomenon and decided to do something about it.

Reuters has the details:

Members of a new Texas association are starting a college scholarship program for a group of students they say do not have as many scholarship options as others — white men.

Colby Bohannan, a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, and some friends have formed the non-profit Former Majority Association for Equality, which will provide the scholarships. The idea was that there are many scholarships geared toward helping minorities and women attend college, and there are also scholarships for people from certain religions or from certain families. But Bohannan thought his demographic group was missing.

“We know that we’re going to be receiving some vicious attacks, from people claiming that we are racists, or promoting some bigotry-filled agenda,” Bohannan said on Thursday.

Starting this summer, the association plans to provide as many as five $500 scholarships to deserving white men who have at least a 3.0 grade point average, Bohannan said.

“Our aim is actually just to help students,” he said. “We are not trying to jump on any political agenda or bandwagon.”

… To qualify for the group’s scholarship, applicants have to be able to prove that they are at least 25 percent Caucasian,” Bohannan said.

“We’re not looking for blond-haired, blue-eyed, stereotypical white males,” he said. “My feeling is that if you can say you’re 25 percent Caucasian, you’re Caucasian enough for us.”

Stand by the phone, guys. You should be hearing from the ACLU any minute now.

It’s not allowed because 200 years ago white people had all the benefits. So that means every generation of white people until eternity have to pay for this crime. Now that there is a black president and people of different cultures and races have every opportunity to excel it is the young white students that need to be held back to pay for the sins of their great-great-great-great- grandparents.

…my great (etc) grandparents were either in Ireland or being subjegated in the Indian Territory XD Or mining. I have some east coast German in my blood, it seems.

I asked this question when I was younger in college: “Why is it that there are all these whatever associations, but there is no association for white people? Why would those associations be considered racists, but organizations for blacks, hispanics and asians are not considered racists?”

I got blank stares and whispered voices. I for one did not go to back to the we are black, hispanic, asian and proud group. It can be a lonely thing to be a conservative, but whatever. In any case… the only answer I came come up with is that we have been deceived into believing that only white people are capable of racism.

I had a situation where I wrote a letter to the editor of an hispanic oriented magazine after they made a story about the supposed racism of the Arizona law. I don’t know if I still have it, but it was the usual, basically telling them my story that growing up black in a latin american country wasn’t peaches and cream. It sucked on so many levels. I suffered great racism at hands of many hispanics, yet the light skinned hispanics have the nerve to come to this country and behave like entitled a**holes, but they mistreat black, native and asian people in their home countries. It is hypocritical. Of course I never got a reply. They never amended their article.

To truly move on, and allow for these futile discussions about race to subside, we have to truly treat everyone the same on every sphere and condition. Obviously, the diversity of the world will make it seem like an unattainable goal. What I hope is that they (the group that has done this) have the fortitude and the ability to speak appropriately to the points that they are making. They shouldn’t let the idiots control the conversation. They have to get and stay on top of things.

As for the scholarships per se, there is an understanding that white people have money that is of course stupid. I know a great deal of white people have not a pot to piss in. Scholarships like these would be very wonderful for non-minorities to have the same chances to get a free ride or almost free ride to higher education IF they are capable to deal with it and have the grades to qualify. As for the 25% really? If I was going to there for college I would have applied because with the grades and that percentage I qualify just fine.

Thumbs down idiot: Where are you? Come out to play…

My senior in High School (93/94) is when I started seeing “Pride” days at school. They had Native American Pride (Who I just call American Indians or use their tribe name? All of ’em I know are no less native then I am.) Hispanic/Latino Pride, “African” american Pride (What are black people in Britain? British African? Such a stupid politically correct name…) And other racial pride based days.

No White Pride though, that would’ve been racist.

These things were always during my last period. I talked to the professor (The man did programming and physics, one of the few professors I knew that was actually a Professor) and told him I didn’t think I should have to go to these things. He agreed and said they were utter crap, so I got to slip out. He said “I’m not going to say you can’t go, but if you aren’t there when we get there I won’t say anything.”

Good man.

I thing Racial Pride is a bad, bad thing for any race. Knowing your roots is not, knowing your heritage is not. But Racial Pride leads to some serious issues and it is not relegated to White Anglo Saxon Protestants.

Since that year, I’ve had discussions with people of many a different race. OFten I hear this “You don’t know what it is like to be a minority!”

I say “Excuse me? I grew up in Southern Arizona. A white guy growing up in a largely Hispanic and Indian area… Yes, I don’t know what it is like at all.”

I’ve had people hate me just because I’m white. I’m not even *totally* white, I have a lot of Cherokee and Choctaw in my heritage, heh. I guess if I were darker I’d fit in better? 😛

As it is, people have increasingly called me Italian as I’ve grown older, heh.

Very, very well said KQ! Oh… and go get that thumbs down creep!

KimmyQueen March 3, 2011 at 12:24 pm

TY. Hey if he or she comes out to play I will indeed play. I am bored, I need the entertainment.

John March 3, 2011 at 9:06 am

KQ, we’ve had strong disagreement before on the subject of religion but on every other subject I agree 100%. I have a lot of friends of differing race and wish the blacks were more outspoken like you, but I can understand why a lot are not, they just want to get along with thier lives without conflict. I’m glad though that many like yourself and the likes of Allen West, Bill Cosby etc. do.

Seems fair to me.

Though you know they’ll be called racists, bigots, etc.

hisham March 2, 2011 at 8:44 am

How come whites don’t get the privileges as other races?

Haven’t you figured it out yet nuke? Only white anglo-saxon males can be racists…your idea will never get off the ground…too many self-loathing, liberal, white people to fight.

Ruben March 2, 2011 at 8:06 am

Apparently, Bohannan, et al, are just following Eric Holder over the high bar he has set.

Paden March 2, 2011 at 5:06 am

“A mind is a terrible thing to waste, won’t you help?”

juandos March 2, 2011 at 3:31 am

I second nuke‘s comment…

Think, “freedom of association‘…

nuke March 2, 2011 at 3:19 am

Good for them. It’s about time someone had the balls to ask the question: How come whites don’t get the privileges as other races? What’s wrong with a whites only organization or white congressional caucus?
