Pelosi says she’s not nervous, but the numbers say she should be

by editor on August 5, 2010

What, me worry? Nancy Pelosi is turning into the Congressional equivalent of Alfred E. Newman.

The Speaker of the House says, “I’m not nervous at all” about the mid-term elections. Nope. Not even the teensiest bit worried.

But ABC News reports that Pelosi has plenty of reasons to worry:

Democrats now hold a 39-seat edge in the House. Yet the playing field continues to expand: The Rothenberg Political Report currently lists 88 seats as “in play.” Seventy-six of those seats currently are held by Democrats.

Many of the same places that helped build the president’s winning coalition in his race against Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. — states such as Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, and Pennsylvania — could be the places where Republicans rack up the gains they need to take back the House.

In many of those districts, the Obama agenda has been widely unpopular. House members are left defending votes on items including the stimulus, bailouts, health care and cap-and-trade that have grown more unpopular with the passage of time.

It means that the president and his agenda will very much be on the ballot — while the president himself won’t be the best position to help Democrats play defense.

Pelosi maintains that wide-eyed innocence ignorance no matter how bad things look.

Of course, the wide-eyed part may be the result of bad plastic surgery and a Botox overdose, but the ignorance is all-natural.

“I’m totally out of the loop.”

Dunno, seems pretty loopy to me. :-p

@USN-Retired……. that was my first thought as well. They don’t worry if they know they’ve got a fool proof method of scamming the election so the Dems win!

Maybe she thinks that the fool-proof “fix” is in for the Democrat party.

You know- dead voters, double or triple registered voters, “found” absentee ballots, intimidated voters, hacked electronic voting machines etc. All those things that make Chicago so great.

Her first sentence says it all “I’m totally out of the loop.”

Did anyone else see that Fat Ass Jerrold Naddler wants to adjust the taxes in Hew York so that HIS RICH people do not have to pay as much in federal taxes as “rich” people in other parts of the country.

Because their cost of living is too high.

She’s too stupid and ignorant to worry. Probably so pompous she doesn’t allow her staff to tell her the truth. Adios Nancy, we’re taking DC back.
